Life Coaching:
Creating the Life You Want

Wouldn't it be great to greet each day with enthusiasm?

Wouldn't it be great to be full of energy, eager to get up and embrace your life?  To feel that you are where you want to be and doing what you want to do?  Wouldn't it be great to live a life of abundance?

Then let's get on with it!  Let's go on a journey of self-discovery.  Let's go on a journey in which you determine the destination and you figure how you can get there from here.

Let's open up the whole world of possibilities and see what has special meaning to you.  For the moment, let's assume there are no limitations, nothing to stop you.

Let's see where that takes you:

what you want to do,
where you want to live,
what you want to achieve,
how you want to do it.

Then - and only then - let's go back and examine those limitations.  Let's see how substantial they really are, how you can get around them.

And then let's stand back.  Let's look at the complete picture and create your path to living the life you want.  Because the emphasis is on you and what you can and want to do, it will be realistic and achievable.

''I want to show people what I am able to do. Maybe it will
inspire them.''
— Keegan Reilly, a 22-year-old paraplegic mountain climber, after reaching the top of 12,385-foot Mount
Fuji, Japan's highest peak

"The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

"First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do."
— Epictetus

So..., What does it take to do this?

It's actually pretty simple:  commitment on your part and having a life coach.  Without your commitment to making progress in your life, nothing will happen.  Your life coach is your ally and partner in the process, someone who really wants to see you succeed.

"Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans."
— Peter F. Drucker

Your Life Coach as Ally and Expert

Einstein said it very well: "The significant problems of today cannot be solved at the same level of thinking that created them."

Therein lies the difficulty for everyone who sticks solely to the "self-improvement" path.  Most of our problems are ones that we created, therefore we can't even see them by ourselves, let alone conquer them.

Einstein recognized the value of continually interacting with the other great mathematicians of his time.  He didn't believe he could do it all on his own.  And that is true for all the rest of us.

We may have periods of great brilliance when we lock ourselves away, but the truth is we need the stimulus provided by our interaction with each other and nature.  It is then that we experience the greatest progress toward our goals and the greatest self-growth.

Think how great it can be to have your life coach's independent view on limitations and obstacles that you feel are blocking your path.  Won't it be great to develop new perspectives on your challenges?  And have new approaches flow through your mind as a result?  Einstein certainly thought so.

Your life coach is your ally and partner in you making it happen for you.   You life coach is an expert in the process, someone who understands the many ways we humans allow ourselves to be side-tracked and will alert you as it happens.

One of the great things about coaching is your coach's commitment to helping you learn from each step you take and celebrating your successes.

You'll find your life coach will help you see life through the same lens that all successful people do:

whatever happens, good or bad, with each step in life, the focus is on the prize, the abundant life that you want to live.  So what is the next step get there from here?

- Gary's Life Coaching Beliefs -

My responsibility as a coach is to help you be the very best that you can be

I believe all of us can benefit from coaching.  As a coach, I have a coach.  My coach is a person who helps me to continue to learn, improve and expand my capabilities.  This is a huge transformation for me, as I formerly believed that I could do it all myself.

In the mid-1980's, I met someone who was in the business of helping adults achieve extraordinary personal growth.  I was amazed at what she was helping others accomplish and I wanted that experience for myself.  Yet I was stuck in my self-help belief that "No one knows me better than myself and I'll work it out myself or stay stuck in my box."

It took much time and painful agonizing before I summoned the courage to work with a human development professional.  Yet once I got started, I was amazed at how much my view of the world changed and how much more effective I became in my personal and professional lives.

When I embarked on a major career shift a few years later,  I worked with another human development professional.  My personal growth was phenomenal.  I had already been successful in my career before working with either of these individuals.  But now I now found I was comfortable taking on life and work challenges that I would have avoided before.

I am very lucky to have worked with these two individuals during a time when coaching had not yet evolved into a separate discipline.  My life became easier, a lot more comfortable and with much less stress.

I would like to help you experience the same excitement I did when I realized just what great life and career opportunities were open to me.  And I'd like you to experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from turning those opportunities into reality.

So... Please tell me about yourself.  Who are you?  What is important to you and what are your challenges?  What slows you down or stops you in you tracks?  If you could design abundance into your life, what would it look like and how would you feel?  If you were being coached, what would you focus on?  When would you like to begin?
